First, a note to our value-minded readers: The main album here runs only nine tracks, but iTunes will give you an extra one, and there's a bonus EP available with the physical CD. On to the music: Let's just say that Hoop used to be Tom Waits' nanny, and though she was born to Mormons in Northern California, she now lives in Manchester. It's a fittingly eclectic, unique and weird background to this fittingly eclectic, unique and weird sophomore album of experimental alt-folk. Fans of Patrick Wolf, CocoRosie and Hoop's old boss take note.
