My first thought on "Hunting My Dress" was this is a bit novelty, something trying too hard to be quirky. My second thought was, where does Jesca Hoop find her range of voices? Thought number three was appreciating the rhythms that accompany the poetry of Jesca's lyric and vocal. Thought four was that she is an artist that could do an absolutely scintilating cover of "Sun Arise". Thought five was that I needed to listen to this album again. It turns out I was wrong, this isn't an album trying too hard to be quirky, it's a really off the wall rush into the left field and beyond, strangely captivating.
